Vinyasa yoga is the path in yoga by which the awareness is created by practicing certain physical poses and several breathing techniques.
The physical movements and synchronized with the breath helps to gain control over the mind and other senses.
Surya Namaskar is one of the important asanas in Vinyasa Yoga. Practice of this series of movements in yoga helps to flush out toxins in the body cells thus vitalizing the energy and the body.
Breath control helps to relax and calm the lower reactive mind and its impulses and disturbances. So that the upper brain is then activated by the concentration and coordinated efforts and activity producing clarity of thought in mind.
Regular practice of yoga makes the life blissful and meditative through this natural process. Practice of yoga is otherwise the communion with the higher Self from the higher mind rather than the lower impulsive self.
Thus making life peaceful and harmonious. The concentration involved in breathing along with the actual breath intake itself influences feelings thus the thoughts arising in the mind are more harmonious.
When the movements of the body is synchronized with breathing, awareness increases automatically thus unveiling the true potential of the mind.
Several poses in Vinyasa yoga help to reduce the anxiety and stress in the modern fast lifestyle.
Physiologically it helps to purify the blood through oxygenation and increased pumping action, thus reduces blood pressure. This stimulation greatly affects the internal organs stimulating, invigorating and massaging them which in turn stabilizes the hormones in the body. The stabilizing of hormones is profound in affecting and elevating our moods.
The full deep exhale – inhale process cleans out old stale air, bringing in new clean oxygen, changing the PH of the internal body from a corrosive acid state caused by trapped carbon dioxide sitting in the lungs. The fresh new oxygen transforms the inner body to an alkaline life enhancing environment.
The increased oxygen and activity also affects the metabolism, it is this combination that creates energy in the Krebs cycle! This increased energy maintains itself by burning fat as fuel thus is very useful in redesigning the body, releasing energy blocks and reducing stiffness of muscles.
Yoga is an integration of pranayama techniques and ashtanga yoga asanas, leading to mental clarity through its cleansing healing actions restoring us to our vital, energetic, youthful whole and happy relaxed selves. Namaste. Questions? Contact me here. Deb
