You've landed back on your feet after a week or up to a month of holiday fun and festivities, placing all those concerns aside while in your holiday spirit. You’ve reconnected, reinvigorated and restored your spirit self with all the fun and festivities.
Looking down at your weight scale now, you see the needle has tipped to the upper limits of where your weight to be and now it's time to get back to your regular yoga practice and the nutrition plan you normally live by. Ah remember that feeling of being on track vital, healthy, lithe and fit.
Cravings! Don't worry. Once you give yourself the healthy nutritious foods you love the cravings will ease off. Poor nutrition (junk, sugar etc) foods always make your hungrier.
Weight Gain! Don't worry. It's just water weight from excess your body wasn't used to processing. Once your back on your healthy diet plan and regular yoga practice, the extra weight and puffiness will fall away.
Puffiness! Don't worry! You let yourself go! Good for you. You had fun and celebrated. Now it's time to refocus realign back into your regular healthy nutrition plan and yoga practice. Don't forget to add a little extra core work.
Muffin Top? Don't worry! You will need this to fire up your motivation to change gears back to your regular program! As you begin your practice and dedication to nutrition and yoga, it will melt away. Try practicing vinyasa: Sury A(5 times) and Sury B(5times) with one breath for each position....in case you don't what Sury A is if you've been to class you've done it many times! Stand in mountain, forward fold, lift back(prepare pose), chatturunga, up dog, down dog (5breaths), jump forward, prepare, mountain. Sury B is mountain, utkatasana, forward fold, prepare, chatturanga, updog, down dog, vira 1 R leg, chatturunga, vira 1 L leg, chatturunga, down dog (5breaths), jump forward, prepare, utkatasana, mountain. Sury A and B will burn your fat away, in its cardiovascular challenge.
Perfection! Let it Go! Don’t be a slave! Holding high standards will set you on a course of self-berating. Trust in your nutrition and yoga plan. It worked before and will work again. Have a hearty belly laugh instead and burn lots of extra calories (worrying equals no caloric output and feeling bad…an obvious no win situation!)
Seeing as it’s 17 degrees outside today…maybe those couple of extra pounds are serving a purpose. Get those extra pounds outside for a walk and see if they keep you warmer. Warning…you may just burn them off right away!
